Halleh's Bespoke Jewelry Design Process

Halleh loves creating meaningful bespoke jewelry for her clients. A bespoke jewelry creation is something that no one else in the world will have, and it can even become a future heirloom in your family. Just as unique as you are, a custom jewelry piece will attract attention and spark conversations among people you meet. You'll have an amazing story to share about your treasure.

One of Halleh's clients recently contacted her to ask for a very special necklace creation. To celebrate the birth of her second son, the client wanted an evil eye necklace, but not just one she could buy ready-made from a jewelry store. She wanted an evil eye with Halleh's unique and creative design perspective. She said, "I want it to feel special…so what better way than if a friend could design and make it!"

She mentioned that her family describes her first son's eyes as sparkling black diamonds, so she wanted an evil eye with black diamonds as the focal point. Halfway through her pregnancy with her second son, she felt she should be wearing an evil eye, which is an ancient protective talisman that's believed to guard against harm.

According to this article from Town & Country about the history of evil eye jewelry, "Belief in the evil eye—“mati”—dates back to Greek Classical antiquity, to at least the 6th century B.C. when it appeared on drinking vessels. It is referenced by Plato, Hesiod, Plutarch and many more classical authors who attempted both to describe and explain the function of the evil eye." The evil eye has a long-standing tradition and holds great significance for many cultures, not just for the Greeks.

Evil eyes traditionally feature blue and green accents, so Halleh's bespoke evil eye is extra special. For many years, before the evil eye became more popular in the United States, Americans could only find evil eyes as blue-and-white amulets, snatched up as souvenirs during their travels to Greece.
